what is bioidentical hormone
replacement therapy?

Almost every process in the human body is initiated and halted by hormones. These fascinating chemical messengers tell your body when to start and stop processes like sleep, excitement, growth, stress, and so much more. Hormone therapy has been used to treat uncomfortable menopause and andropause symptoms for a long time, so what’s the difference between synthetic hormones and bioidentical ones?

Synthetic hormones are by nature, not human identical. Synthetic hormones must be modified in order to qualify for the patenting process and these modifications are responsible for complications with continuous use.

Bioidentical hormones are identical on a molecular basis to human hormones, meaning the hormone molecule matches the one your body naturally makes.

We use a combination of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) and a holistic treatment plan to help you bring your hormones back into balance.

how we can help

Our programs are supervised by a team of Medical Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, and Certified Hormone Specialists, who will assess your current hormone imbalances and help you to safely and naturally bring them back into balance. We use a combination of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT) and a holistic treatment plan that tackles many facets of wellness at once. Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy uses carefully fine-tuned quantities of these body-identical hormones to rebalance a patient’s natural hormones.

During your consult, our Certified Hormone Specialists will take into account your lifestyle, diet, and stressors in conjunction with your bloodwork results to develop a program that addresses your unique needs and concerns. Our hormone specialists customize the hormonal components in your prescription specifically for your biochemistry and your tailored dosage is manufactured specifically for you at a compounding pharmacy.

our pricing & process

Five-step patient journey: registration, blood work, consultation, follow-up at 8 weeks, yearly check

All prices are subject to change without notice. Prescription prices are variable and are not included in our costs. For more information on pricing, please contact us directly.

  • To get started with our program, all you have to do is book an appointment here (note: this step incurs a $50 new patient start-up fee.) The new patient appointment is done virtually for accessibility and convenience, allowing us to serve patients across Canada.

The purpose of this appointment is to assess your eligibility for the program, equip you with introductory materials, and provide you with a blood testing requisition form.

  • Your blood work can be completed at an Alberta Precision Laboratories location or any other lab that is convenient for you. We recommend this testing be completed at least one week prior to your first visit (two weeks for patients outside of Alberta.) Please notify our team about all incoming blood work results.

  • At your first consultation, a Certified Hormone Specialist will review your symptoms, concerns, and wellness goals through a detailed questionnaire. Based on your medical history, lab results, and goals, we’ll create a personalized treatment plan that may also include nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management. Your plan is directly supervised by our team of Nurse Practitioners and Medical Doctors.

Once your plan is complete, your prescription will be sent to a trusted compounding pharmacy. Because these prescriptions are custom-made, it may take a few days for them to be ready.

Your BHRT appointments can be done virtually or in-house at any of our three physical locations. We currently offer in-house BHRT in Sherwood Park, St. Albert, and Spruce Grove.

  • After 8 weeks on your medication, a follow-up appointment is required to review any symptoms or concerns and to renew your prescription. This follow-up may include additional bloodwork, and in some cases, clients may require an extra appointment to achieve optimal results. Additional follow-up visits are billed at $250.

  • Yearly checks are required to review blood work and renew any medications. Your yearly appointment is due one year after your last appointment.

This allows patients to spread the cost of approximately two years of ongoing care into manageable monthly payments.

For financing terms of 12 months or less, True Balance covers the financing fee (6.99%), meaning that you pay 0% interest.
